Preschool is located in Huntington Hills area, Calgary North West. It has been in business since 2004.
Owner and a certified Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten teacher is Miss Olga Sanchez.
The core philosophy of the Montessori method is that
every child is unique and that his individuality must be respected throughout the educational process. If placed in the proper
"prepared" learning environment, children will develop into “normalized children...they are active, balanced,
able to work for the long time keeping concentration and discipline because they possess self-control.." (Maria
Montessori).
Mi Casa Montessori preschool provides such environment
that encourages your child's development. It offers a wide range of Montessori activities, which support
and reinforce your children's independence and self-esteem. Mi Casa Montessori Preschool follows
the "three freedoms" which offer children:
- Freedom to repeat
- Freedom of movement
- Freedom of choice
Children love to explore and discover; they learn
by touching, feeling, and manipulating objects. Children strive to find out what stimulates their senses and where things
belong in this world.
The Mi Casa preschool environment is prepared according
to your child's needs. It is equipped with various Montessori materials and challenging exercises.
Children choose their own works. Their choice is respected and their work is valued. Children develop initiative;
they built concentration and self-discipline. They discover, explore and finally master.
The Montessori Program is designed for children from three
to six years of age. The curriculum covers the Preschool and Kindergarten level. The mixed aged group allows children to learn
from each other, share knowledge and help each other working with the materials.
